BEVERLY, Mass. — The Conference of New England announced Tuesday afternoon that Roger Williams University sophomore forward Brodie Loveland (West Milford, N.J.) has been named the CNE Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, while first-year midfielder Reese Jefferson (Dighton, Mass.) has been selected as the CNE Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for their respective performances to open the 2026 season.
Loveland Opens Season With Strong Offensive Output
Loveland has been a key component of the Hawks' attack through the opening four games of the season, recording five goals, one assist and 11 points on 15 shots.
The sophomore forward opened the season with a goal in Roger Williams' 3-1 victory over No. 24 WPI on September 1. Her goal helped the Hawks secure a ranked victory in their season opener.
Loveland Continues Strong Start at Lasell
Loveland followed up her season-opening performance with another strong showing against Lasell on September 2.
The West Milford, N.J. native recorded one goal and one assist in the Hawks' 4-0 shutout victory, finishing the contest with three points and three shots.
Two-Goal Performance Highlights Home Opener
Loveland delivered her biggest offensive performance of the opening stretch in Roger Williams' home opener against Plymouth State.
She scored two goals to help lead the Hawks to a 5-0 victory, bringing her season total to four goals through the first three games.
Loveland added another goal in Roger Williams' September 7 matchup against Connecticut College, giving her five goals and 11 points through the opening four contests.
Jefferson Makes Immediate Impact
Jefferson has also made an immediate impact during her first season with the Hawks, earning CNE Field Hockey Rookie of the Week honors after appearing in all four contests.
The first-year midfielder has recorded two goals and four points while playing 224 minutes. She has registered 12 shots and six shots on goal, converting two of her six shots on goal into goals.
Jefferson Contributes in Season Opener
Jefferson began her collegiate career with a strong performance against No. 24 WPI on September 1.
The Dighton, Mass. native scored one goal on three shots, helping the Hawks secure the 3-1 victory over the nationally ranked Engineers.
Jefferson Adds Another Goal Against Plymouth State
Jefferson found the back of the net again in Roger Williams' home opener against Plymouth State on September 5.
She recorded one goal on six shots as the Hawks cruised to a 5-0 victory, giving her two goals through the first three games of her collegiate career.
Jefferson continued to contribute defensively and offensively against Lasell and Connecticut College, finishing the opening four-game stretch with two goals, four points and six shots on goal.
