In 2021, Gorman guided both the Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs to an undefeated regular season and the top seed for the tournament. For his efforts, Gorman was named CCC Coach of the Year for both Men’s and Women’s Tennis. The Women’s Tennis team placed four athletes on the All-CCC team in addition to sophomore Emma Place being named CCC Player of the Year. On the men’s side, the team put together one of its most successful seasons in program history. After posting a perfect 8-0 record in the CCC, the Hawks advanced to the CCC Championship Match against Wentworth Institute of Technology. The Hawks came away with a 5-1 win to claim their second conference championship in school history. Five men’s student-athletes earned All-CCC recognition including sophomore Jon Trevethan as CCC Player of the Year. In addition, Gorman was ranked 14th in the ITA's "Active Top 50 By Winning Percentage" list this past fall.
 
In 2020, Gorman was honored as Commonwealth Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year after leading the Hawks to a 6-1 CCC and 11-1 overall regular-season record. In addition, he coached Alessia Cahoon to the CCC Rookie of the Year honors while the team finished with the second-best single-season winning percentage in program history at .882 (15-2).
 
The 2015-16 campaign saw Gorman honored as CCC Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year for the second straight season while coaching senior Eric Laboissonniere to CCC Player of the Year. The Women’s Tennis team also earned a spot in the CCC Championship Match, tying the school record for most wins in a season after going 16-4 overall. In addition, senior Lauren Schmidt became the Hawks’ all-time leader in career victories in singles with 61 and doubles with 55.
 
His second season saw him being named as CCC Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year after finishing the regular season with a perfect 7-0 conference record, as well as the program’s eighth straight berth to the CCC Championship match. His Women’s Tennis team finished 14-7 on the season, going 6-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference and reaching the CCC Semifinal match. Five female student-athletes earned spots on the All-CCC team, with Alexandra Brown being named the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
 
In his first season at the helm of the two programs, he guided the men’s program to another strong year, finishing the regular season with a 7-1 record in the Commonwealth Coast Conference and earning the #2 seed for the tournament. The Hawks advanced to the CCC Championship for the seventh straight year, going 14-5 on the year in addition to placing four individuals on the All-CCC team. The women’s program similarly claimed a 7-1 record in the CCC as well as the #2 seed and an appearance in the CCC Semifinals. The team finished 14-7 overall with four players named to the All-CCC team.
 
Gorman came to Roger Williams after having spent the previous five seasons at nearby Bridgewater State University. During Gorman’s tenure at Bridgewater State, he piloted the women’s tennis team to Little East Conference Championships and NCAA Tournament berths in 2010 and 2012.
 
His women’s teams captured three straight Little East Conference regular season titles from 2010-12. Over that same period of time, he was recognized as Little East Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year, receiving the honor in 2010 and 2012.
 
On the men’s side, Gorman wrapped up his tenure as the winningest coach in the program’s history, going 46-35 with a .568 winning percentage in his five seasons. In 2012, he was named the Little East Conference Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year.
 
Gorman was an outstanding student-athlete on the BSC men's tennis team from 2005 to 2008. He capped off his illustrious career by capturing the second flight singles title at the Little East Conference Men's Tennis Tournament this past spring. Gorman completed the 2008 season with a perfect 14-0 mark in singles play.
 
Gorman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Bridgewater State in May of 2008.  In 2011, Barry completed his Masters of Arts degree in Physical Education with a specialization in coaching from Ball State University.
 
A four-year starter at singles and doubles at Bridgewater State, Gorman closed out his career with a 41-10 (.803) record in singles play while going 30-17 (.638) at doubles. Along with capturing the second flight singles championship in 2008, Gorman also teamed with Brendon Barbo to win the third flight Little East Conference championship in 2007.
