Alison Cappelloni enters her first year at Roger Williams as the assistant women's basketball coach.
Cappelloni graduated from Colby College in Maine with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in May of 2010. While at Colby, she was a four year starter on the basketball team as well as a three year captain. She was instrumental helping to turn around the program during her time at Colby, helping the team to a 24-5 record in her senior season while reaching a national ranking of 22nd. At Colby, Cappelloni was selected to the ESPN the Magazine District I All-Academic Team, All-NESCAC First Team, Maine All-State First Team, and NCAA State Farm Coaches' All American Team. She ended her career sixth on Colby’s all-time scoring list with 1,229 points.
While at Colby, Cappelloni also engaged in volunteer work, was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, worked as an alumni phonathon caller, and a part of the Senior Pledge Committee.
Cappelloni has worked as a basketball camp counselor at Next Level Basketball Camp and Sarah Behn Basketball Camp. Her duties entailed teaching basketball skills to groups of girls ages 8-18, through specific drills, team practices, and competitive games.
Cappelloni joins new Hawk head coach Kelly Thompson for their first season as the coaching staff of the RWU Women’s Basketball team and currently resides in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
