Angelina Marazzi

Head Women’s Basketball Coach Kelly Thompson has announced the appointment of Angelina Marazzi to the Roger Williams bench for the 2023-24 season as assistant coach.

“I am truly excited to be a part of the Roger Williams women’s basketball staff,” said Marazzi. “When meeting Coach Thompson our values as people and coaches matched perfectly, and I am very excited to continue to help build a winning culture here.”

Marazzi joins the staff after working as a Head Basketball Trainer and Lead Director of Basketball by Behn Camps, where she oversaw the creation and execution of individual basketball development plans.

Simultaneously, the Hawks’ new assistant also served as the Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, and the Junior Varsity Head Coach at Attleboro High School, while also bringing experience working as a Head Coach and Trainer at the Dana Barros Basketball Club.

Prior to her coaching experience, Marazzi played at Fitchburg State University, where she was a 1,000 Point Scorer for the Falcons. She also was honored as a MASCAC All-Conference Second Team Honoree, during her sophomore, junior, and senior campaigns, after playing a season at Saint Anselm, capping off her career being named to the Worcester Area College Basketball Association Second Team. She was also a two-year captain at Fitchburg State.

Following her collegiate playing days, Marazzi studied at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where she also played two years of professional basketball in Europe.

“I am thrilled to have Angelina joining our staff,” Thompson said. “She fits into the culture of our program and prioritizes our values of character, passion, and selflessness. She has great connections through her AAU and personal training programs, as well as abroad from her time playing overseas. I believe her diversity of experiences will bring lots of added value to the Hawks as we strive to maintain the success our program has seen in recent years.”

Marazzi graduated from Fitchburg State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, before earning her Master’s at Cardiff Metropolitan University in Sports Coaching and Pedagogy.
