“The lifelong impact you have on young women, that’s what makes me love coaching,” Coach Hathaway said. “It keeps the job exciting, and it helps preserve your youth. I see the women’s basketball program building a tradition at Roger Williams.”

An accomplished point guard at the University of Rhode Island from 1982 to 1986 and a veteran of the All-Navy women’s basketball team, Coach Hathaway comes to Roger Williams with a successful Division III coaching record.

She started her career at St. Mary’s High School in Worcester, Mass., where she guided the team to the playoffs in five of seven seasons. At Clark University, Coach Hathaway specialized in player recruitment and advance scouting and helped lead the team to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship tournament.

At Roger Williams, Coach Hathaway also oversees NCAA compliance and eligibility, ensuring that the University’s student athletes remain eligible for competition and handling rules interpretation and education for the Athletics Department staff.
