Elise McClear

Elise McLear joins the Roger Williams University Women’s Soccer coaching staff for her first season as an assistant coach.

 

McLear comes to RWU after spending the 2009 season as an assistant coach on the University of Massachusetts-Darmouth Women’s Soccer team. Her duties included organizing and planning practices, reviewing scouting reports, and evaluating high school players. In addition to her position as UMass-Dartmouth Assistant Coach, she also served as a substitute girls’ physical education teacher at the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.

 

Prior to working at UMass-Dartmouth, she worked at Massachusetts Premier Soccer as an intern in the Marketing and Communications Department, where she researched other club teams and evaluated the success of alumni of the program.

 

McLear is a 2009 graduate of Mount Ida College, where she earned her degree in Business Administration and majored in Sports Management. During her time at Mount Ida, she was captain of both the women’s soccer and women’s basketball teams and a member of SAAC. On the soccer team, she played all four year, tallying 26 goals and five assists in 65 games, placing her fourth in school history in goals scored and sixth all-time in points. She was a two-time All-NAC player and 2008 team MVP.

 

McLear has also spent the past four summers coaching at Soccer’s Future Academy, teaching technical and tactical functional training to children ages 6 to 14. In addition, she is also a player on the Massachusetts Stingers Soccer Club in Women’s Premier Soccer League.

 

McLear currently resides in Swansea, Massachusetts.
