BRISTOL, R.I. – Welch went 4-0 on the day to win the Scott Viera Invitational 184 lb. bracket.  Welch beat returning NEWA placer Nick Camera of Springfield in the Semi-Finals 7-1 and then beat Brandon Riggins of STCC 6-4 in SV1 to win the tournament.  Welch was the only Hawk to win his bracket at the tournament. Earlier this season Welch took 3^rd at the RWU Invitational and 2^nd at the Doug Parker Invitational.  Welch was also selected as Rookie Wrestler of the Week by the New England Wrestling Association.
