Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. - On Thursday afternoon the Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team beat visiting Springfield College by a score of 9-0.  The win improves the team's overall record to 2-1 heading into the final match of the fall season.

The afternoon began with the doubles competition where the Hawks went 3-0 to give them the momentum heading into the singles matches.  The #1 Doubles went to David Lange (Great Neck, N.Y.) and teammate Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.) 8-3 over Springfield's Trevor Romanzi (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and Tim Tunis (Sudbury, Mass.).  The #2 doubles match was closer, with the final going in favor of the Hawks by a score of 8-6 as Kevin Erikson (Tolland, Conn.) and Spencer Withington (Plymouth, Mass.) put away Zach O'Leary (Westboro, Mass.) and Ben Burnup from the Pride.  The final doubles match was won by RWU's Kyle Baker (Bolton, Conn.) and Nate Rohman (Topsham, Maine) 8-5 over Jesse Boyd and Kevin Leahy.

The singles matches went much the same way for the Home team as the Hawks continued to shine going 6-0 on the day.  Lange was victorious over Romanzi by scores of 7-5, 6-0 in the #1 singles.  Erikson won the #2 doubles by identical 6-3 scores over Springfield's Tunis.  The Hawk's Baker controlled the #3 singles going 6-1, 6-2 over O'Leary from the Pride.  Withington won his #4 match against Burnup by scores of 6-4 and 6-3, and the #5 singles match was won by the same set of scores as Kleitz downed Boyd.  The final match of the day was won by Nate Rohman by scores of 6-3 and 7-6 (7 tiebreaker points) over Mike McGee (Pawtucket, R.I.) from Springfield.

The Hawks are next in action this Sunday as they host Bryant in the final match of the fall season.
