BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss against a talented visiting team from Bryant University. The Division I opponent showed off their talent and did not surrender a single set all afternoon. The match was the final one of the fall season for the Hawks, finishing off with a current record of 2-2.

In the doubles first match, Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) and Juan-Martin Parades (Quito Ecuador) won 8-4 over David Lange (Great Neck, N.Y.) and Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.). In the #2 Doubles Spencer Withington (Plymouth, Mass.) and Kevin Erikson (Tolland, Conn.) were beaten by Bryant's Kevin Gardner (Powder Springs, Georgia) and Thomas Nowak (Medfield, Mass.) by a score of 8-3. The #3 doubles match saw RWU's Kyle Baker (Bolton, Conn.) and Nate Rohman (Topsham, Maine) lose 8-2 to Nicholai Hill (Ottawa, Ontario) and Daniel Cournoyer (Jefferson, Mass.) from Bryant.

Bryant continued to dominate the play in the singles matches, not giving up a set to the home team. Balestrieri won over Lange by dual scores of 6-2. Parades from Bryant beat the Hawks Erikson, 6-0, 6-0. Baker lost to Gardner in the #3 singles 6-3, 6-4. A pair of 6-1 scores in the #4 singles match as Hill beat Withington. Losing by another pair of 6-1 scores was Kleitz to Nowak. In the final match Andres Orobita (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) downed Jason Pacino (North Reading, Mass.) by scores of 6-3, 6-1.

With the win Bryant improves to 1-1, the Hawks fall to 2-2. Bryant will next be in action at the Stony Brook Duals on October 10^th and 11^th. Roger Williams will not be in action again until the spring, with the first match of the Spring season on March 24, 2010.
