BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - The Bridgewater State College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Roger Williams University Thursday afternoon from the Dr. Henry Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts in Bridgewater.
Roger Williams (6-6) won all six singles matches and two out of the three doubles to come away with the non-conference victory.
BSC senior Matt Charest (Somerset, Mass.) and freshman Duncan Yarworth (Wrentham, Mass.) teamed up for an 8-1 win at first doubles. Charest also battled to a tough 7-5, 7-6 (7) loss to RWU's Ryan Kim (Port Washington, N.Y.) in the top flight singles match.
Along with his top singles victory, Kim also paired up with senior Jeffrey Agonia (Lincoln, R.I.) for an 8-1 win at third doubles.
The Bears (3-4) will travel to Wheelock College next Thursday for a 3:30 match with the Wildcats, while Roger Williams hosts Gordon College on Saturday at 1 PM.
