PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team dropped its final two matches in Arizona, falling 9-0 to Division II Mesa State College and 8-1 to Connecticut College.

At doubles, Nicholas Hawvermale (Bethlehem, Conn.) and Jason Pacino (North Reading, Mass.) nearly pulled off the win at #3, but ultimately fell 8-6. Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn) and Kevin Erikson (Tolland, Conn.) had to retire at #1, falling 5-4 due to injury.

Taylor Webster had one of the closest matches of the day, dropping a 6-4, 6-3 decision at #5 singles. Kleitz was the only Hawk to take a set from Mesa State, falling 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.

Against Connecticut College, Hawvermale ended with the only win on the day for Roger Williams, winning 6-4, 6-3 at #5 singles. Pacino nearly grabbed a win at #4 singles but fell 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Roger Williams (3-5) returns back to Rhode Island and will open Commonwealth Coast Conference play on March 23 with a road match against Anna Maria College.
