Men’s Tennis rolls to win over Regis

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team moved over .500 on the year with a 9-0 win over Regis College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Four Hawks won at singles play without dropping a single game, with Jeff DeNunzio (Barrington, R.I.), Taylor Webster (Bristol, Conn.), Jonathan Chandler (East Falmouth, Mass.), and Nate Rohman (Topsham, Maine) each earning 6-0, 6-0 wins. DeNunzio defeated Jeffrie Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) at #1, Webster over Sophorn Nop (Lowell, Mass.) at #2, Chandler winning at #5 against Matthew Smolko (Pelham, N.H.), and Rohman beating Mouhamed Diallo (Boston, Mass.) at #6.

At doubles, Kevin Erikson (Tolland, Conn.) and Dan Kleitz won 8-3 at #1 against Parish and Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.). DeNunzio paired up with Spencer Withington at #2 for an 8-1 victory against Nop and Daniel Berdichevsky. Nicholas Hawvermale (Plymouth, Mass.) and Jason Pacino (North Reading, Mass.) earned the final win, an 8-1 decision at #3 over Diallo and Smolko.

Roger Williams (7-6, 3-1 TCCC) hosts Gordon College Monday at 4:00 p.m., while Regis (1-9, 1-4 TCCC) travels to Assumption College tomorrow at noon.
