Women's Soccer rolls to win over Johnson & Wales

Box Score EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Johnson & Wales University dropped a 4-0 decision against the Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team in a non-conference contest at Pierce Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Roger Williams got on the board first when freshman Taylor Provost (Peabody, Mass.) headed in a corner kick from junior Hannah Noel (Adams, Mass.) at the 7:11 mark.  Noel then tallied a goal of her own at the 9:20 mark after she converted on a breakaway down the right side of the field to put the visiting Hawks up 2-0.

RWU closed out the scoring for the half on Noel's second goal of the game in the 20th minute, making the score 3-0.  Roger Williams took the three goal lead into halftime after holding a 10-2 advantage in shots for the stanza.

Johnson & Wales had several chances in the second half, but couldn't capitalize before Provost curled in a corner kick at the 74:37 mark to propel Roger Williams to the 4-0 victory.

Freshman Alexa Rose (Lancaster, Pa.) made five saves in the loss for Johnson & Wales while junior Stephanie Jaques (Burlington, Vt.) had two stops in the shutout victory for Roger Williams.

With the loss Johnson & Wales falls to 5-10 on the season while Roger Williams improves to 7-5-2 on the year.

The Wildcats will return to action on Wednesday, October 17th when they travel to Lasell for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest, starting at 3:30 p.m. Roger Williams host Western New England on Wednesday.
