Box Score

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team utilized a lone overtime goal in the 97th minute to pick up a 1-0 win against the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth on Tuesday evening at Cressy Field.

Roger Williams forward Hannah Noel (Adams, Mass.) made a strong push with the ball along the left side of the pitch, outran a UMass Dartmouth defender and made a clean delivery to teammate Kristen Tetreault (Tolland, Conn.) for the game-winner.

The Corsairs were unable to capitalize on a golden opportunity to score in the 81st minute. Junior Maura Gonsalves (Dartmouth, Mass.) found an opening within the Hawks defense, transferred the ball to her right foot,  got off a clean shot despite the diving effort from Roger William's keeper Stephanie Jaques (Burlington, Vt.), however the ball rolled just right of the net.

UMass Dartmouth goalkeeper Michelle Miller (Westford, Mass.) stopped seven shots in the loss. Between the pipes for the Hawks, Jaques earned a clean sheet while stopping two attempts.

This marks the fifth loss for the Corsairs as they drop to 8-5-1 on the year, while Roger Williams moves to 13-2-1.

The Corsairs travel to Plymouth State for a Little East Conference match on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Roger Williams University will travel to the University of New England on Saturday as well.
