#21 Women’s Soccer eases to 7-2 win over Curry

Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team rolled off its ninth straight win Wednesday evening with a 7-2 win over Curry College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.

The Hawks, ranked #21 nationally according to the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Poll, improves to 15-2-1 on the year and 6-1-0 in the CCC. Curry falls to 6-9-1 and 1-6-0 in the conference.

Curry began the game with a goal by Felicia Vieira in the seventh minute, putting the Colonels on top 1-0 with her first goal of the year. Her goal broke a five-game streak scoreless streak for Hawk opponents.

The Hawks would respond with six unanswered scores, beginning with back-to-back scores by Kristen Tetreault (Tolland, Conn.) in the 19th and 28th minutes to give the Hawks a 2-1 advantage. Kristen Casey (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Jessica Valenti (North Reading, Mass.) assisted on Tetreault's pair of scores.

Haley Carignan (Scarborough, Maine) added one more goal before the end of the half, using an assist from Tetreault for her third score of the season.

In the second half, Valenti notched a goal in the 51st minute, taking a pass from Kristen Knight (Marion, Mass.) to build the Hawk lead to three. In the 61st minute, Katie Lydon (Riverside, R.I.) and Darby Rawcliffe (Portland, Maine) each added goals less than 40 seconds apart to give the Hawks a 6-1 advantage.

Kiley Farrell (Rockland, Mass.) was able to end the Hawk run with an unassisted goal in the 65th minute. Yet Tetreault earned the final goal of the match, converting a Calista Roll (Auburn, N.H.) pass in the 66th minute to complete the hat trick.
