ORLANDO, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team picked up its first win of the season, defeating the College of St. Scholastica 6-3 in the team's third match of the spring break trip.
RWU began the day with two wins at doubles play. Zack Bussiere (Colchester, Vt.) and Jason Pacino (North Reading, Mass.) defeated Dylan Kelly and Nick Lambrecht 8-6 at #2, while Eric Laboissonniere and Jonah Schwartz followed suit with an 8-4 victory over Tyler Bates and Cody Mauston.
Kevin Erikson (Tolland, Conn.) came through with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 win at #1 s ingles, with Laboissonniere notching his second win of the day at #3 singles. He came back from being down a set to Dylan Kelly at #3 to win by a 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 10-4 score.
Ryan Swanson (West Newbury, Mass.) and Kyle Bull wrapped up the win for the Hawks, with Swanson winning 6-0, 6-2 over Kolin Dean at #4. Bull picked up a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Cullen Combs.
The Hawks wrap up their spring break trip Friday evening against Bethel.
