Women's Soccer to play Think Pink Game on Saturday

This Saturday, the Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team will continue its support of the "Hawks For A Cure" campaign by holding its second annual Think Pink Game in conjunction with the team's 3:30 p.m. contest against Salve Regina. All those in attendance are encouraged to wear their pink Hawks For A Cure bracelet and their brightest pink outfit.

During the game, donations will be accepted, baked goods and gift baskets will be raffled, and a 50/50 raffle will be held to collect proceeds for the Roger Williams Cancer Center, based out of Roger Williams Hospital in Providence. Last season, the team raised $1,000 and hopes to raise more this year.

The team will warm up in dyed pink socks and pink shirts donated to the program, in addition to selling Hawks For A Cure bracelets.

The commitment to the cause is something that is very important to every member of the Women's Soccer team, as a number of families have been impacted by watching a loved one struggle in their fight against cancer.

Joining the Captain's circle will be the mothers of senior captain Kristen Tetreault, sophomore Darby Rawcliffe , and freshman Carly Quinn—all cancer survivors. Team members will be dedicating this game to a loved one who has faced this battle. With the memories of those lost in their hearts, everyone on the team is committed to the success of the event.

The Women's Soccer program would like to thank the entire RWU community for its support and hope that you all can come out and support such a worthy cause and enjoy a great day of soccer.
