In the opener, Roger Williams jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. A combination of strong Hawks defense and lackluster shooting by Lesley ultimately put the Lynx in an insurmountable hole. The Lynx missed their first 14 shots and did not score until 9:47 left in the first half. At that point, the Hawks lead 25-0 and would eventually go into halftime leading 38-12.

After shooting only 4-of-29 in the first period, Lesley fared a bit better from the field, going 12-of-31 in the second half. However, the Hawks hot shooting continued in both halves. RWU shot 50% in the first period (14-of-28), before connecting at 55.6% (15-of-27) in the second half.

In the second game, Suffolk and Fitchburg State battled early on, with Suffolk staying within four points for most of the first half. However, Fitchburg State was able to pull away late in the period and take an eight-point advantage going into the second half (31-23).

The Falcons would open the second half on a 17-8 run to take its largest lead of the game up to that point, leading 48-30 with 15:27 to play. A thunderous off-the-backboard dunk by Maurice Greene (Brooklyn, N.Y.) from Leonny Burgos (Lawrence, Mass.) put the Falcons up by 19, as Fitchburg State would go on to win by 25.

Kwame Lee (Brockton, Mass.) led the Falcons with 25 points and eight rebounds. Greene added nine points and eight boards, while Keyon Armstrong (Brockton, Mass.) went for 15 points. Jalen Williams (Meriden, Conn.) added ten points and six rebounds off the bench.
