Men’s Tennis closes out Spring Break with win

Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team took down Alvernia University 9-0 Thursday afternoon in its final match of the team's Spring Break trip.

Ryan Swanson (West Newbury, Mass.) and Taylor Webster (Bristol, R.I.) notched their fourth doubles win over the year, defeating Dan Minnich and Dennis Sult 8-3 at #1. Zack Bussiere (Colchester, Conn.) and Eric Laboissonniere (Cumberland, R.I.) rolled to an 8-0 victory against Ben Daubenspeck and Aaron Yuros at #2, while Kyle Bull (Pleasantville, N.Y.) and Jonah Schwartz (Orange, Conn.) wrapped up doubles play, taking down Sam Boyd and Colin MacCloskey 8-2 at #2.

At singles, Andrew Amarone improved to .500 at singles with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 win at #6 against Jacob Conapitski. Laboissonniere and Bull each picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins at #3 and #4, respectively, while Webster and Schwartz rolled to 6-1, 6-1 wins at #2 and #4. Bussiere claimed a 7-6 (5), 6-0 win at #1.

Roger Williams (2-2) will begin Commonwealth Coast Conference play on March 25 at Western New England.
