Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. - The top-seeded Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball secured a berth to the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship for the seventh straight season after defeating the #4 seed Western New England University 3-0 Thursday evening.
 
Roger Williams improves to 18-11 on the year and will host the winner of the #3 Endicott College/#2 Gordon College semifinal match this Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
 
The first set began as a back-and-forth affair, with neither team leading by more than three points early on. With the game tied at ten, The Golden Bears scored seven straight points and appeared to be headed for the win. However, the Hawks stormed back, managing to tie the game at 20 apiece. RWU would then close out the set with a 25-22 win.
 
In the second set, the Hawks put the Golden Bears in a hole that they could not come out of. RWU opened with four of the first five points, eventually taking a commanding 14-3 lead. The Hawks would not let WNE come closer than eight en route to the 25-12 win.
 
The third set saw both teams trade points for the first half of the game, amassing five ties and two lead changes. WNE broke a 9-9 tie with five straight points before the Hawks came back to knot the contest at 16. RWU would ultimately close out the match on a 9-3 run to head back to the CCC Championship.
 
Elizabeth Flaherty (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) led RWU with 14 kills to go along with 13 digs. Maria Batas (Merrick, N.Y.) finished with 14 digs, while Sarah McAniff (Redding, Conn.) added eight kills, 12 digs, and two aces. Josalyn Benson (Phoenix, Ariz.) led RWU with 32 assists.
 
Carly Skibinski (Milford, N.J.) led the Golden Bears with nine kills and three blocks. Jenna Leuck (Dumont, N.J.) added seven digs, while Jessica Sincero (Verplanch, N.Y.) notched 11 assists.
