Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark University handed the Roger Williams University Men's Basketball team a 58-63 loss Wednesday afternoon at the Clark Alumni Holiday Basketball Invitational.
 
The Cougars kept the Hawks at arms' length throughout the game. Clark opened the contest with a 7-0 run but never lead by more than that amount. Josh McCourt (Lincoln, R.I.) eventually tied the game at 23 with a pair of free throws with 52 seconds left in the first half but the Cougars would take a three-point advantage (26-23) into halftime.
 
In the second period, the Hawks stayed within one possession for most of the period but were never able to take the lead. A 28-all tie two minutes into the half would be the closest RWU would come. The Hawks had a chance to tie the game at 58 in the final minute but missed the game-tying three. The Cougars would then come down the other and bury a three of their own to ultimately put the game away.
 
Austin Coene (Tyngsborough, Mass.) led RWU with 14 points to go along with four rebounds. Trevor Fahmy (Bedford, N.H.) added 11 boards and three points, while Nick Marini (Loudonville, N.Y.) finished with 12 points and five assists.
 
Roger Williams (4-5) will be back in action after the New Year on Tuesday, January 5 against Nichols.
