Men’s Tennis claims top seed for CCC Tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Roger Williams University has claimed the top seed for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's tennis championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Tuesday, April 28. The Hawks (12-4 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming CCC tournament after posting a perfect 8-0 record in conference play.
 
Top-seeded RWU and second-seeded Nichols College (15-5 overall, 7-1 CCC) will both receive byes in the tournament's quarterfinal round.
 
Two quarterfinal matches will be played on Tuesday, April 28 at 3:00 p.m., as third-seeded Endicott (10-6, 6-2) will host sixth-seeded Western New England University (7-7, 3-5) in Beverly, Mass. Fourth-seeded Gordon (14-4, 5-3) will host fifth-seeded Eastern Nazarene College (10-7, 4-4) in Wenham, Mass.
 
Winners of the two quarterfinal matches will advance to the semifinal round on Thursday, April 30. Top-seeded Roger Williams will host the winner of the Gordon vs. Eastern Nazarene quarterfinal in Bristol, R.I at 4:00 p.m.  Second-seeded Nichols will host the winner of the Endicott vs. Western New England quarterfinal on the campus of College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. at 3:00 p.m.
 
Tournament action culminates with the CCC championship match on Saturday, May 2 at a time to be determined.
 
The CCC tournament champion will earn an automatic berth in the upcoming 2015 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship.
