Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team capped off Senior Day with a 2-0 win over the University of New England Saturday afternoon.
The six Roger Williams seniors;
Jordyn Labriola (Hopkinton, Mass.),
Missy Andrade (Glastonbury, Conn.),
Kristen Casey (E. Longmeadow, Mass.),
Jenna Hart (Cheshire, Conn.),
Ashlyn Dowd (Holden, Mass.), and
Kristen Knight (Marion, Mass.); were recognized prior to the game for their contributions to the RWU Women's Soccer program.
The Hawk defense put in work all day against the University of New England, holding the Golden Bears to only four shots in the game, none of which were on goal. RWU would outshoot the Nor'Easters 14-4 over the course of the game.
The Hawks got things started in the first half with an unassisted goal by
Ericca Broderick (Great Barrington, Mass.) in the 20
th minute. Broderick's third goal of the year would put the Hawks on top 1-0.
RWU's one-goal lead would last into the second half, when Hart took a pass from
Jodie Lavigne (Coventry, R.I.) and convert it for her fifth goal of the season. Those two goals would be all the Hawks needed in the game.
Sydney Martin (Scarborough, Maine) had an easy day in net, not needed to make a save for the shutout win. UNE keeper Brielle Robinson (Monson, Mass.) had five saves in the loss.
Roger Williams (9-6-2, 6-0-2 CCC) will host Salve Regina Tuesday in the team's last regular season CCC game. UNE (9-5-1, 5-2-1 CCC) takes on Wentworth in their final regular season game on Tuesday as well.
