Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team notched its second straight 9-0 win, this time defeating UMass-Boston Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks took advantage of a fatigued Beacon squad, who earlier in the day dropped a 6-3 decision to Emerson College.
Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) and
Andrew Amarone (North Haven, Conn.) each grabbed 6-1, 6-0 wins in singles play, while Stratton Stillanos (Lynnfield, Mass.) rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6 over Guang Huang. At doubles, Spoor and Amarone paired up for an 8-0 win at #3, beating Zeke Hernandez and Wyatt Towle.
Eric Laboissonniere (Cumberland, R.I.) and
Jonah Schwartz (Orange, Conn.) also combined for three points. The two defeated Josh Bhasin and Jack Wang 8-2 at #1 doubles. Later, Laboissonniere won 6-2, 6-0 at #1 singles, while Schwartz defeated Vlad Leopard 6-1, 6-0 at #3.
Roger Williams (5-2) will host Salve Regina Wednesday at 4 pm.
