Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team shut out UMass-Boston 9-0 Sunday afternoon in the team's first home match of the 2016-17 season.
 
At doubles, the Hawks took the top two flights by identical 8-3 scores. Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) and Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) took down Alexander Comerchero and Austin DeLasse at #1, while Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) won at #2 against Josh Bhasin Onkgoptse Mokoka. At the third flight, Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) and Matthew Russo (Branford, Conn.) shut out Ray Platteel and Tin Tran 8-0.
 
At singles, Rosenberg and O'Leary each collected 6-2, 6-2 wins at #2 and #5, respectively, with Rosenberg downing Bhasin and O'Leary defeating Momoka. White won his #1 match 6-3, 6-2 against DeLasse, while Cole took out Sanshrut Sharma 6-1, 6-0 at #4. Spoor outlasted Comerchero 7-6 (5), 6-2 at #3, and Russo wrapped up the sweep after winning 6-1, 6-2 at #6.
