WORCESTER, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Wrestling team swept its quad meet at WPI Saturday afternoon, defeating Norwich 41-4, King's 39-15, the University of New Hampshire 60-0, and Castleton State 21-15.
Nicholas Barbaria (Scarsdale, N.Y.) helped the Hawks towards the sweep, going 4-0 on the day including a technical fall over Cole Nickerson of Norwich and a pin on Frank Darwick of Castleton State.
Justin Cochran (Paramus, N.J.) notched a pair of wins for Roger Williams, including a pin on Benjamin Forsman of Norwich, while Tyler Gazaway (New Providence, N.J.) logged a fall on John Schultz of Norwich as part of his three victories.
Matt Elias (Madison, Conn.) and Taylor Shay (New Fairfield, Conn.) also both finished the day with three wins as well for Roger Williams. Shay won two of his matches via pin for the Hawks.
Adam Patsun (Somers, Conn.) went 2-1 in his three matches with one pin, with
Connor Humphries (East Longmeadow, Mass.) adding two wins as well.
Roger Williams will head to York College on December 2 to take part on the New Standard Corporation Invitational.
