Men's Tennis team fell 7-2 to Nichols College Tuesday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup.
Nichols began the day taking two of the three doubles flights. Brandon Howard and Blake Norton edged
Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) and
Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) 9-7 at #1, while Guilherme Barbosa and James Smith downed
Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and
Matthew Russo (Branford, Conn.) 8-3 at #2.
Thomas O'Leary and
Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) got the Hawks on the board with an 8-5 victory over Igor Markowski and Jake Zapata at #3.
At singles, Spoor collected the sole win for RWU on the day, taking down Barbosa 7-5, 4-6, 10-5 at #4. Norton and Howard earned respective wins at #1 and #2 over White and Cole by 6-2, 6-1 scores. Zapatka also notched a 6-2, 6-1 win over Russo at #5. Jack Donaldson earned a 6-4, 6-0 win against O'Leary at #6, while James Smith defeated Rosenberg 6-2, 6-0 at #3.
Roger Williams (8-7, 4-3 CCC) wraps up the regular season next Tuesday at Salve Regina, while Nichols (14-3, 6-0 CCC) travels to Eastern Nazarene on Friday.
