Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team fell 8-1 to Connecticut College Sunday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.
Roger Williams' sole win of the day came at #3 doubles, with
Matty Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) and
Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) picking up an 8-4 victory over Johnny CIssel and Patrick Farrell. Will Cannon and Daniel Maffa took down
Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) and
Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) 8-4 at #1, while Ben Sachs and Charlie Williams defeated
Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and
Matthew Russo (Branford, Conn.) 8-3 at #2.
At singles, Williams won 6-2, 6-1 over Cole at #1 while Maffa earned a 6-3, 6-1 win over White at #2. Cissel picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win over Rosenberg at #3 and Sachs downed Spoor 6-4, 6-1 at #4. In the final two singles spots, Scott Brown defeated
Alex Bonanno (Westford, Mass.) 6-2, 6-1 at #5, while Farrell collected a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Russo at #6.
Roger Williams (5-3) hosts UMass-Dartmouth on Tuesday, while Connecticut College (4-3) faces Colby College on Saturday.
