Men’s Tennis Rolls To Win Over St. Francis

Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team collected its first win of its Spring Break trip Sunday evening, shutting down the University of St. Francis.
 
Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) shut out Reggie Garrett and Alex Stavretis 8-0 at #3 doubles, while Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) and Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) held off Austin Overlander and Tony Tometi 8-6 at #2 doubles.
 
The Cougars earned their lone win of the day at #1 doubles, with Tyler Christlieb and Jay Stanchin just getting past Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) and Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) 9-7 at #1.
 
The Hawks swept singles play across the board. White claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win over Overlander at #1, while Cole rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Stavretis at #3. Spoor and Matty Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) each collected identical 6-1, 6-2 wins, with Spoor downing Stanchin at #2 and Feldman beating Garrett at #6.
 
Completing the sweep for the Hawks were Deibe over Christleib at #4 singles (6-4, 6-1) and O'Leary against Tometi at #5 (6-2, 6-4).
 
Roger Williams (2-0) will face Springfield next in their second match of the trip.
