Men’s Tennis Suffers First Loss Of Spring Against Springfield

Box Score ORLANDO, FLA. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team could not make it two wins in a row, as the Hawks were downed 4-5 by Springfield College.
 
The Hawks opened the day taking two from the Pride at doubles play. Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) claimed an 8-3 win over Cameron Grant and Chris Unger at #2, while Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) downed Zack Keene and Drew Delorenzo 8-0 at #3.
 
 
Court Honda and Alex Romaine put the Pride on the board with an 8-4 win over Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) and Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) at #1.
 
 
At singles, Deibe picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win against Keene at #4 while Matty Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7-3) victory over Moffa.
 
 
Unfortunately the Pride would take the other four singles matches to earn the team win. Romaine took down White 6-0, 6-3 at #1 with Honda downing Spoor 6-3, 7-5 at #2. Grant earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Cole at #3 and Unger defeated O'Leary 6-4, 6-3 at #5.
 

Roger Williams (2-1) wraps up its Spring Break trip Wednesday against Scranton.
