Box Score BEVERLY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team picked up an 8-1 victory over Endicott College Friday afternoon, earning a key Commonwealth Coast Conference victory.
The Hawks earned two wins at doubles play.
Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) and Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) won 8-2 over Charles Book and Daniel Rinkert at #2, while Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) edged Thomas Brent and Christos Papadopoulos 9-8 (7-5).
Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) set down Anthony Rinaldi 6-3, 6-0 at #5 singles and O'Leary earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ozan Cermik. Rosenberg came back over Brent after being 3-6 in the first set. He won the next two sets 6-4 and 10-8 for the #2 flight win.
Cole went three sets with Keaton McCleary at #4, taking the first 6-1 before falling 5-7. In the third set, he earned the 10-6 win to take the #4 singles match.
Spoor held off Book 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 at #3 while Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) defeated Chris Kirkpatrick 6-2, 6-3 at #1.
Roger Williams (6-4, 3-1 CCC) will host Curry tomorrow afternoon.
