Men’s Tennis Logs Senior Day Win

Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team picked up a 9-0 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology Tuesday afternoon in the team's final match of the regular season.

Prior to the match, the Hawks honored senior Grant Rosenberg (Melville, N.Y.) for his contributions to the program over the past four years.

Rosenberg would claim two wins on the day, beginning with an 8-5 victory with Nick Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) over Jeff Tocco (Plymouth, Mass.) and Tyler Hall (Framingham, Mass.) at #1 doubles. He would later give Hall a 6-0, 6-2 loss at #2 singles.

In the other two doubles matches, Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) defeated Seng Ly (Lynn, Mass.) and Alex Mularski (Auburn, Mass.) 8-2 at #2. Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) and Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) came away with the 8-3 win against Jarrett North (Roanoke, Texas) and Tristan Maus (Mansfield, Mass.).

White was able to take his #1 singles decision 6-3, 6-1 over Tocco. At the bottom three flights, the Hawks won their matches by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores, with Cole over Ly, Deibe over Maus, and O'Leary over Mulaski. Spoor needed a super tie-breaker to win his match over North at #3, but he held on for the 6-1, 5-7, 10-4 win.

Roger Williams (9-5, 6-2 CCC) will host Western New England University Saturday in the first round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. Wentworth ends the year at 5-9 and 2-6 in the CCC.
