BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball kept its winning ways with a 3-0 win over Eastern Connecticut State University Tuesday evening.
Another strong defensive effort by the Hawks helped push the team to the win. RWU held the Warriors under .200 on the night, as ECSU hit only .172 in the match. In addition, the Hawks paced the way with eight service aces and five total blocks. They would take the opening set by a 25-20 score. In the second set, RWU held off a late rally by the Warriors to win by a slim 26-24 margin. In the final set, RWU cruised to a 25-18 win punctuated by a service ace by

Katherine Pickard (St. Petersburg, Fla.) led RWU 15 kills in addition to 14 digs while
Jill McManaman (Bellerose Village, N.Y.) posted eight kills and a .500 hitting percentage.
Kate Grabowski (Hebron, Conn.) had 16 digs while
Julia Fields (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) finished with 34 assists.
Abby Stern (Manchester, Conn.) had a match-high 18 kills for Eastern Connecticut State. Alaetra Long (Lincoln, Neb.) had nine kills and ten digs while Mckenzie Maneggia (Andover, Conn.) had 18 assists and 14 digs.
Roger Williams (4-1) will play MIT, Babson, and Wellesley in the MIT Invitational beginning on Friday.
