BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team came back against in-state rival Rhode Island College Tuesday evening to defeat the Anchorwomen 3-2 in a non-conference match.

How It Happened
The Hawks rallied from a 2-0 deficit with wins in the third, fourth, and fifth sets. Rhode Island College claimed the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-19.
In the third set, RWU broke a 12-all tie with a 5-1 run to get a four-point lead and earn a little breathing room. Holding a 22-17 lead,
Lauren Burbidge came out of a RIC timeout with three straight service aces to put RWU on the board.
In the fourth set, RWU came out strong, ultimately grabbing grabbed a 14-8 lead and forcing a RIC timeout. The Hawks continued to put the pressure on the Anchorwomen after the break. RWU ended the set on an 11-6 run to take the 25-14 victory and force a fifth set.
In the final set, both teams went back-and-forth early on. However, a pair of Lara LoIacano kills sandwiched around a Burbidge ace put RWU up by three (11-8). The Hawks would hold onto the lead the rest of the way, with
Katherine Pickard notching the final kill to give RWU the 15-11 win.
