SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Soccer team had four student-athletes selected to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Team, as it was announced Friday.
Arianna Delli Carpini (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) and
Sammy Jost (Ringwood, N.J.) were both honored as All-CCC First Team selections. Bailey Lavoilette (Agawam, Mass.) earned a spot on the All-CCC Second Team, while
Sara Nerwinski (Lawrenceville, N.J.) was chosen to the All-CCC Third Team.
After missing last season due to injury, Delli Carpini bounced back with a strong 2019 campaign. She led Roger Williams with seven goals and 15 points, ranking seventh and tenth in the CCC in both categories, respectively. Her best game of the year came in a 2-0 win over the University of New England where she scored both goals for RWU.
Jost has been a strong presence for the Hawks this season in the midfield, having started 16 of RWU's 18 games on the year. She has helped RWU hold conference opponents to only 11 goals scored against the Hawks this season. In addition, she scored her first goal of the season, a game winner, against Western New England in the team's regular-season finale.
Lavoilette has been another fixture in the Hawk lineup this season, having played in 19 of the team's 20 games with 18 starts. As one of RWU's starting defenders, she has helped the team put together a 1.30 goals-allowed average in conference play, fourth-best in the CCC. She also added her assists of the year against Western New England.
Nerwinski has served as the Hawks' starting midfielder throughout the season, playing in all 20 games with 19 starts. She was fifth on the team with nine points while leading RWU and ranking sixth in the conference with five assists. She had an assist on both of RWU's goals against Nichols in a 2-0 win for the Hawks.
