BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team picked up a 62-58 non-conference victory over Connecticut College Thursday evening.

How It Happened
Roger Williams kicked off the contest with a pair of layups before Connecticut College came back on an 8-0 run to take the four-point lead. RWU managed to tie the game on their final possession of the first quarter to make it 14-14 entering the second.
 
The Hawks would begin the second on a 9-2 run to go up by seven. RWU would take its largest lead of the game on free throw by 
Sam Leone to take an 11-point lead with 3:24 to play (27-16). Roger Williams would maintain its lead going into halftime, holding a 31-24 advantage entering the break.
 
In the third, the Camels trailed by as many as 12, but continued to climb their way back into the game. They would hold RWU to only two points in the final two minutes of the quarter while cutting the deficit to only three going into the fourth (39-42).
 
In the fourth, Connecticut College grabbed its first lead to the opening quarter on a layup from Nancy Coulverson for a 49-47 lead with 3:37 left to play. Leone would later put RWU back up by one with a free through with 2:29 left. After a Claire Gulbin three, 
Gabby Jerahian answered with a three of her own to put RWU back up by on and give them the lead for good.
 
Gulbin had two looks at a game-tying three for the Camels in the final 15 seconds but was unable to drain either one, allowing RWU to hold on for the win.
