Women’s Basketball Falls To Western New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team fell 49-60 to Western New England University Saturday afternoon in the team's first Commonwealth Coast Conference game of the season.

How It Happened
The Hawks came out on a 6-0 run to begin the game. However, the Golden Bears finished the first quarter on a 19-6 run to take a seven=point lead into the second quarter. In the second, Western New England built their lead to 15 as they went into halftime holding a 34-19 advantage.
 
In the second half, the Hawks mounted a comeback, pulling within two with 2:31 left in the third (34-36). Western New England would eventually make it a six-point game going into the fourth (36-42).
 
Roger Williams would fall behind by seven three minutes into the final period. Western New England would make it a 50-40 game with six minutes left and hold on to the double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
