BRISTOL, R.I. – The second-seeded Roger Williams University Women's Volleyball team returns to the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship for the third straight season after defeating #3 Wentworth Institute of Technology Thursday evening.

How It Happened
Roger Williams got off a strong start with a 6-2 run before Wentworth came back to tie things up at nine apiece. With the score knotted at 11, the Leopards rolled off seven straight points to go on top. The Hawks were unable to pull closer than four the rest of the way as Wentworth took the opening set 25-20.
Both sides traded points back and forth early on in the second set. RWU was able to get a little breathing room, using a 7-2 run to break a 5-5 tie and forcing a Wentworth timeout. The Leopards would not go away, eventually pulling within one (16-17) and making the Hawks call a TO of their own. After the break, RWU would score six of the next seven points en route to the 25-20 win.
A 7-2 run for Roger Williams kicked off set three, leading to a Wentworth timeout. Roger Williams would build their lead to seven (17-10) and not allow Wentworth to mount the comeback. RWU would grab the set 25-18.
Wentworth came out strong in the fourth set, beginning on a 6-2 run. RWU would tie it at eight, but the Leopards answered with four straight points. The Hawks would climb their way back into the set and tie it at 19. The turning point came with the set tied at 22. Lara LoIacono would later punch RWU's ticket to the championship with a kill to give RWU the 25-23 win.
