Coppinger Becomes First NFHCA All-Region Player In RWU History

GILBERT, Ariz. – Roger Williams University Field Hockey senior defender Alex Coppinger (Guilderland, N.Y.) has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-New England East First Team. Coppinger becomes the first player in Roger Williams Field Hockey history to earn All-Region recognition.
 
She finished the season third on the team with 21 points on eight goals and five assists. Her five assists ranked second on the team and is tied for third in goals. She began the season with goals in the first four games including the game winner against Manhattanville on September 8. Most notably, she finished her career tied for the program record for assists with 13.
 
Over the course of the season, Coppinger started all 22 games on the season for Roger Williams this past year, helping lead the Hawks to a program-record 12 wins and the team's first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament win.
