BRISTOL, R.I.—The Roger Williams Men's Tennis team lost to Western New England University 2-7 on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
In doubles play, the Golden Bears came out firing and earned the 3-0 lead.

Dan Tocco (East Quogue, N.Y.) faced opponents David Kalmer (Slingerlands, N.Y.) / Justin Kohut (South Windsor, Conn.) and lost 8-3. No. 2's were
Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) /
Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) versus Hippolyte Bonnet (Lille, France) / Luke Surawski (Wethersfield, Conn.) which resulted in a 8-2 loss. The number 3's was a close match featuring
Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) /
Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) against Max Gordon (Middleton, Mass.) / Michael Tran (West Haven, Conn.) but ended in a 8-6 deficit.
In singles play, numbers one through three resulted in a win for the Golden Bears. White took on Kalmer for a 6-1, 6-3 loss, Tocco versus Bonnet for a 6-0, 6-0 loss, and O'Leary against Kohut for a 6-2, 6-2 loss.
However, Cole and Matt Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) came to play winning both of their matches to give the Hawks two points. Cole faced Surawski and battled all the way through resulting in a 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 win. Feldman took on Gordon and also experienced a tough match that resulted in a tiebreaker but pulled through with a 7-6, 1-6, 10-6 win.
Arlex Correa (Lynnfield, Mass.) was the last match at number six that faced Griffin Arnold (Meriden, Conn.) and ended with a 7-5, 6-2 loss.
The Hawks come back to play Tuesday April 2
nd against Gordon College at 4:00 p.m.
