BRISTOL, R.I. — Nichols College earned a 9-0 win over the Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team Wednesday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup.
Guilherme Barbosa (Bradenton, Fla.) and Brandon Howard (Hamden, Conn.) notched an 8-4 win at #1 doubles against
Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) and
Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.), while Blake Norton (Stratford, Conn.) and Sebastian Peneloza downed
Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) and
Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) 8-2 at #2. At the #3 flight, Peter Coletti (Beverly, Mass.) and Igor Markowski (Paris, France) earned a close 8-5 victory over
Dan Tocco (East Quogue, N.Y.) and
Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.).
At singles, O'Leary and
Matty Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) fell by 6-2, 6-2 scores to Howard and Coletti at #3 and #5, respectively. Tocco fell 6-4, 6-0 to Barbson at #2 and
Arlex Correa (Lynnfield, Mass.) was downed 6-1, 6-0 at #6.
Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) dropped his #4 match to Peneloz by a 6-0, 6-3 margin, while White fell 7-5, 6-0 to Norton at #1.
Roger Williams (4-4, 2-2 CCC) faces Wentworth in a road match on Saturday, while Nichols (8-6, 4-0 CCC) hosts Endicott next Tuesday.
