MILTON, Mass.—The Roger Williams Men's Tennis team wins in a shutout to Curry College 9-0 on a Tuesday afternoon.
In doubles play, the Hawks took the early 3-0 lead when
Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) / Dan Tacco (East Quogue, N.Y.) defeated Aidan Roach (Norwell, Mass.) / Dawson Stento (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) 8-2. No. 2's
Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) /
Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) and No. 3's Matt Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) /
Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) both shut out their opponents 8-0 going into singles play.
In singles, Tacco won to Stento 7-5, 7-5 while Feldman beat Lorenzo Russo (Lynnfield, Mass.) 6-2, 6-3. Number 5,
Arlex Correa (Lynnfield, Mass.) was victorious to Daniel Ritucci (Middleboro, Mass.) in a 6-1, 6-1 match and number 6, Cain defeated Tim O'Brien (Attleboro, Mass.) 6-1, 6-1. White's match against Roach was a close match that ended in a tiebreaker 7-5, 4-6, 12-10. O'Leary's match featuring Richie Hefler (Canton, Conn.) also ended in three rounds 2-6, 6-0, 10-1 to complete the 9-0 shutout for the Hawks.
RWU (6-4) face Endicott College (7-10) in their last match of the season before playoffs on April 24
th at 4:00 p.m.
