BRISTOL, R.I. — The third-seeded Roger Williams University Men's Tennis rolled to a 6-0 victory over sixth-seeded Curry College Saturday afternoon in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Quarterfinals.
Dan Tocco (East Quogue, N.Y.) and
Brendan White (East Lyme, Conn.) notched an 8-3 win over Richie Helfer (Canton, Conn.) and Aidan Roach (Norwell, Mass.) at #1 doubles, while
Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) and
Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) set down Lorenzo Russo (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Dawson Stento (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) by the same score at #2 doubles.
Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) and
Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-0 victory at #3 against Joshua Bernstein (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Daniel Ritucci (Middleboro, Mass.).
At #3 singles, O'Leary took down Helfer 6-1, 6-1 while
Matty Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Ritucci at #5.
Arlex Correa helped send the Hawks to the semis with his 6-0, 6-2 win at #6 against Timothy O'Brien (Attleboro, Mass.).
In the other three unfinished singles matches, White had a 6-4, 1-0 lead over Roach at #1. Tocco took the first set 7-6 over Stento at #2 and Cole was one game away from the win at #3 against Russo, leading 6-0, 5-4.
Roger Williams (7-5) will travel to second-seeded Western New England on Wednesday in the CCC Semifinals. Curry closes out the year at 4-15.
