BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback to Connecticut College Wednesday afternoon.
The Camels took all three doubles flights, beginning with an 8-1 win by Johnny Cissel (Amherst, N.H.) and Henry DeCoster (Greenwich, Conn.) over
Thomas O'Leary (North Easton, Mass.) and
Miles Conlin (Branford, Conn.) at #2.
Brendan White (Old Lyme, Conn.) and
Jared Deibe (Oakland, N.J.) fell 8-2 to Julian Tien (Barrington, R.I.) and SangJin Song (Roslyn Heights, N.Y.) at #2, and
Dan Tocco (East Quogue, N.Y.) and
Tyler Cain (Montpelier, Vt.) were downed 8-3 to Zachary Danz (West Tisbury, Mass.) and Evan Goldsmith (Pennington, N.J.) at #3.
At singles, Tocco and O'Leary dropped their respective #3 and #4 matches to Tien and DeCoster by identical 6-2, 6-1 scores. Guillermo Garcia Rincon won 6-1, 6-1 over White at #1 and Song defeated Deibe 6-1, 6-2 at #2.
Jake Cole (Sterling, Va.) fell 6-0, 6-3 to Walter Komishane (Manchester, Mass.) at #5 and
Matty Feldman (Duxbury, Mass.) lost 6-4, 6-2 to Sean Jenkins.
Roger Williams (3-3) heads to Newport Saturday to face Salve Regina, while Connecticut College (5-4) travels to Williams, also on Saturday.
