Fox Tree-McGrath Selected As Finalist For CCC Nominee For NCAA Woman of the Year

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Three Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) student-athletes were announced as institutional nominees for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year, with Roger Williams' Savannah Fox Tree-McGrath (Billerica, Mass.) among the nominees.

In addition to Fox Tree-McGrath, those picked to represent their schools were Endicott's Abigail Keim (Williston, Vt.) and University of New England's Avery Alberghini (Moretown, Vt.).

Fox-Tree McGrath, the native Billerica, Mass. was Roger William's Female Athlete of the Year for 2019 and a three-time CCC All-Academic Team Selection. She was a two-time CCC Field Performer of the Year as  the Hawks captured the 2018 and 2019 CCC Women's Track & Field Championships. She was an All-CCC First Teamer in the javelin both years, while also being recognized as an All-Conference high jumper. She broke numerous school records in both events. She was the only person in the CCC's two-year outdoor track and field history to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships. Majoring in Architecture, she has been involved with a lot of community service such as Habitat for Humanity and American Institute of Architecture Students.

Established in 1991, the NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service, and leadership.

The conference nominee will be selected by the league's Senior Woman Administrators and will be announced later this month.
