NEWPORT, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team utilized another defensive effort to roll to a 62-41 win over Salve Regina University Tuesday evening.

How It Happened
Roger Williams began the game with back-to-back buckets by
Karli Opalka before the Seaawks eventually tied the game at six apiece. RWU held Salve scoreless over the final 2:30 but only led by two entering the second (10-8). In the following period, RWU built the lead to seven (17-10) before Salve cut it back to four. RWU would then close out the half holding the Seahawks to only one point over the final 4:40 of play to go into halftime up 25-16.
RWU continued to play strong defense in the third quarter, holding the Seahawks to only seven points in the period while denying them any points over the final six minutes of the quarter. The Hawks were able to turn a six-point lead into a 15-point advantage. From the RWU would maintain their double-digit lead throughout the final quarter to cruise to the win.
