How It Happened
The game began with a bit of a scoring drought, as Endicott's Tara Laugeni had the first points of the game three minutes in.
Karli Opalka came back on the other end with a layup for RWU, but Endicott would respond with a 9-0 run. RWU would manage to pull within three, but the Gulls would eventually take an 18-12 lead into the second.
A jumper by RWU's
Sophie Araneo (Branford, Conn.) on the opening possession brought RWU within four. Yet Endicott would use a 9-2 run to go up by 11. The Gulls eventually went into halftime with a 36-24 advantage.
RWU's shooting woes continued in the third quarter, as the team shot just 35.3 percent from the field, compared to 50 percent for Endicott. Trailing 40-54 going into the fourth, RWU 's offense would come alive in the fourth. The Hawks scored on their first three possessions to pull within six, then later made it a 59-64 game with just under two minutes to play. However, Endicott was perfect at the line in crunch time, hitting all ten of their free throws in the final two minutes to halt RWU's rally.
