DUDLEY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team persevered through lackluster shooting night to come away with a 62-50 win over Nichols College Thursday evening.

How It Happened
Offense was hard to come by for both teams, as RWU shot only 28.1 percent from the field, while Nichols shot at only 30.8 percent. Each team only scored three points in the first four minutes of play. Roger Williams was able to score six of the final eight points of the opening quarter to take a 14-6 lead into the second.
 
Nichols was able to climb back into the game in the second quarter. The Bison were able to gain their first lead since their opening possession with a pair of free throws in the final minute of the half (22-21). Nichols would hold on to a one-point lead going into halftime, leading 25-24.
 
In the third, Roger Williams scored on their first two possessions to regain the lead (29-25). Those points would be part of a 15-6 run to go up by eight (39-31). The Hawks would eventually take a 43-33 advantage into the fourth.
 
In the final period, Nichols was able to cut into the deficit, pulling to within six with four minutes left (48-54). However, the Hawk defense was able to hold the Bison to only two points the rest of the way, taking the win.
