BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team celebrated Senior Day Saturday afternoon with an 80-55 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology.

How It Happened
Prior to the game the Hawks honored seniors
Gabby Jerahian and
Sam Leone for their contributions to RWU Women's Basketball over their past four years.
The game began with nine consecutive points for Roger Williams, six of which from
Karli Opalka, drawing two fouls within two minutes. The Hawks came out of the gate with fast transitions and aggressive defense, especially from Leone and
Sam Mancinelli. Roger Williams went on to put together another 9-0 run within two for a 16-point lead. RWU would go into the second quarter up 22-10.
The Hawks maintained a significant lead throughout the second quarter. Roger Williams shot 56.3 percent in the quarter compared to only 37.5 percent for Wentworth. The Leopards continued to battle but were down going into the second half, 25-44.
The third quarter began with some big shots from Jerahian and Leone. Barnard dominated in the paint to help maintain RWU's lead.
Lindsay Towle (Dover, N.H.) ended the third with a midrange jumper at the buzzer, putting Hawks up 64-39.
Wentworth kept battling, but was unable to get over the hill. In the final period, Roger Williams led by double figures the whole way, earning the 80-55 win.
