How It Happened
Neither side was able to score over the first two-plus minutes of play.
Sam Leone ended the drought with a three-pointer. RWU took a 7-2 lead before a Megan Henaghan jumper later tied the game up at nine apiece with three minutes left in the quarter. RWU would then score the final six points of the period to take a 15-9 lead into the second.
In the second half, Roger Williams completely stalled the Seahawk offense, as Salve shot only seven percent in the period. Salve missed their first 12 shots from the field in the quarter before Megan Henaghan finally connected on a layup with four seconds left. Conversely, RWU shot 43.3 percent from the field and built their six-point first-quarter lead to a 21-point advantage entering halftime (32-21).
Salve's offense would pick up in the second half, as the Seahawks scored 15 points in the third and fourth quarters. However, the deficit proved to be too much to overcome, as RWU put up 33 points over both periods.
